Parenting of Gifted Children (SENG) Support Group Overview
Supporting the Emotional Needs of Gifted (SENG)-Model Parent Support Groups are structured to gather together 10-20 interested parents of gifted and talented children. Some of the topics discussed motivation, discipline, stress management, and peer relationships. This support group meets weekly for 8 consecutive weeks.
It is important to note that this is a discussion group where the majority of support is obtained from other parents of gifted and talented youth who share their knowledge and experiences and where psychological education is provided by the group facilitator. This group is not a therapy group in which personal emotions are deeply explored nor the group process is examined.
