Desert Doodles (ages 8-12)

Looking for a nature-based activity to get your child outside? Ready to let your child’s imagination lead them? In this program, Gabe the Guide creates a space for your child to be their authentic self, connect to nature, connect to other children and, most importantly, have fun!

Desert Doodles is designed to improve your child’s skills in:

• imagination
• using the senses
• fine motor skills
• focus
• creativity
• communication
• empathy
• connecting with nature
• curiosity

Desert Doodles in a nutshell:

Gabe the Guide offers participants insight into the activity before passing around sketch pads and setting off on a mindful walk. Participants will be able to doodle and draw as Gabe guides them on a 1 to 2 mile walk in nature. Participants will let their curiosity lead them in creating works of art along the way. This walk allows children to focus their attention on being truly present, looking, hearing and feeling what’s around them. At the end of the walk, participants will gather once again and share what they have created with the group.

Age Range: 8-12*

Location: Gate’s Pass
