Journey Stick (ages 8-12)
December 10, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am MST$25.00
Looking for a nature-based activity to get your child outside? Ready to let your child’s imagination lead them? It’s the return of Journey Stick! In this program, Gabe the Guide creates a space for your child to be their authentic self, connect to nature, connect to other children and, most importantly, have fun!
Journey Stick is designed to improve your child’s skills in:
- using the senses
- fine motor skills
- connecting with nature
In a Nutshell:
Gabe the Guide offers participants insight into the activity before participants select their own walking stick. Next, Gabe the Guide leads children on a 1 to 2 mile mindful walk while they focus their attention on being truly present— looking, hearing and feeling what’s around them. During the walk, participants will turn their sticks into their own unique journey sticks. At the end of the walk, participants gather once again and discuss their journey and their creations.
Materials will be provided to each participant including a walking stick, ropes and rubber bands. Participants get to take their journey stick home with them after the program.
If your child has been on previous journey with Gabe the Guide, feel free to bring a previously created journey stick with you. Returning Journey Stick participants will be welcome to add on to their stick or to start a brand new journey stick.
