Journey Stick (Ages 8-12)
April 16 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am$25.00
Looking for a nature-based activity to get your child outside? Ready to let your child’s imagination lead them? In this program, Gabe the Guide creates a space for your child to be authentically themself, connect to nature, connect to other children and most importantly have fun.
Journey Stick is designed to improve your child’s skills in:
- using the senses
- fine motor skills
- connecting with nature
Journey Stick in a Nutshell:
Gabe the Guide offers participants insight into the journey stick activity before participants select their own walking stick to turn into their own unique journey stick. Gabe then guides participants on a 2 to 3 mile walk in nature. Along the way, participants will let their curiosity lead them in collecting items from the walk and add them to their journey stick. This walk allows children to pick up whatever captures their interest and focuses their attention on being truly present— looking, hearing and feeling what’s around them. At the end of the walk, participants gather once again and share their completed journey stick with the group.
Materials will be provided to each participant including a walking stick, ropes and rubber bands. Participants get to take their journey stick home with them after the program.
