Frequently Asked Questions

The focus of naturopathic medicine is to help your child achieve optimal health.  This medical approach not only helps treat and prevent sickness and disease but also always focuses on the bigger picture – how to support your child in growing as healthy and happy as possible. The goal is to treat the root cause of any issue instead of simply covering up a symptom.

Dr. Sage has treatment options for most of the same conditions for which you would see a conventional pediatrician.  The conditions she sees most commonly in her office include, but are not limited to:

You will find that the world of naturopathic medicine is much different from what you are used to at the regular doctor’s office. Here is how:

  1. Dr. Sage stays on time. Except for unusual circumstances, your appointment will actually start at your appointment time.
  2. She does not have a nurse or medical assistant. Dr. Sage does all of the history-taking and physical exams herself.
  3. She is not rushed. Dr. Sage takes the time to get to know you and your child, take a full history and perform any necessary exams. After she will work with you to develop a treatment plan that will work for you and your child. Follow-up visits are often longer than in conventional medicine.
  4. She is available outside of patient visits. Once established, you can reach Dr. Sage directly via email or cell if you have medical concerns outside of regular business hours.

Yes! Dr. Sage generally prefers to utilize natural approaches, but she also writes prescriptions if she feels it’s necessary.

Dr. Sage works with newborns through college age and their families.
